Qualifications/Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration or Social Sciences. ICAN or ACCA qualification is an added advantage.
  • Good analytical skill and knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or any accounting software is a requirement.
  • Fair knowledge of Oil and Gas industry.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

 

Responsibilities/Activities

  • Monitoring/analyzing of GL 445909 (NG01) and making corrections were necessary to maintain zero balance.
  • Running accrual process for GIT monthly, to accrue the cumulative balances and booking its reversal date on the first of the next month.
  • Assist with the accounting and booking of all Cash Calls paid by Partners into the JV Accounts/Books and analyzing the related impact on the Treasury Report
  • Assist with the preparation of NNPC/TEPNG and AMENAM Annual returns
  • Preparation of Intercompany reconciliation report for TotalEnergies Group entities.
  • Monthly SOX performance and upload on CM+
  • Monitoring invoices in the workflow and following up with actors over items that are overdue.
  • Following up with archivists for reprocessing of invoices received but not in IMP for processing.
  • Fixed asset accounting, depreciation, asset disposals and reporting
  • Accurate computation, and timely filing/payments for all taxes, fees and levies in accordance with statutory provisions of the tax laws with respect to strict deadlines
  • Monthly taxes closure activities and reconciliations with Corporate Budget & Reporting and Corporate Accounting teams
  • Routine and non-routine tax audits by FIRS, States Tax Authorities, NDDC, NEITI, EY Nigeria and EY Paris
  • Treasury operations and treasury control including reconciliation of daily bank balance
  • UNISUP closure activities: settlement, cutback etc
  • Any other duties assigned

  • Complex business ventures, agreements, determination and re-determinations of interests
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in CAP.
  • Quarterly SEC financial reporting under stringent Head Office deadlines.
  • Dynamic regulatory frameworks (IFRS, CAMA, FRCN, PPTA, CITA, CBN, CR EP ACC).
  • Complex financial data repository framework (SAP branches, leases, company codes).
  • High-level requirement for accuracy and completeness of financial information under high-pressure working condition.
  • Multiple interfaces with stakeholders across metiers, affiliates, and external parties

Job Dimensions

  • Budget preparation, budget performance and monitoring
  • Develop and maintain appropriate strategies/reports to ensure adequate budget/performance monitoring and timely issuance of monthly Management Control Report.
  • Manages the monthly closure activities, including making adequate provisions for accruals and follow-up of prepayments.
  • Manages the work commitment process, including validation to external parties/HQ (releases PRs, PO and approves RFS in STAR for Head Office), timely review and validation of SES.
  • Treasury operations and treasury control
  • Invoice processing, general accounting and payment
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements (Naira and Dollar)
  • Preparation of monthly group financial reporting and consolidation
  • Maintain and enforce compliance with SOX Controls relating to assigned functions.
  • Support Partners and Authorities budget and performance review sessions
  • All Federal Government direct & indirect taxes (Petroleum Profits Tax, Gas flare fees, Royalty on Gas sold, Royalty on oil produced, Education tax, OPL & OML rentals, VAT, WHT, PAYE etc) covering all the Totalenergies Upstream Companies in Nigeria
